The original “upscale-camping” unit at our Forks campground. Outback is a small 8′ x 12′ camping cabin just a couple of steps from the main lodge building. This unit is fully carpeted and contains a double bed (all linens, etc. provided), sink with hot and cold water, space-heater. As do all our rooms, Outback has a mini-refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker. Outback occupants will have access to a small bathroom inside the lodge (shared with Outback Too – see below). This bathroom has a commode and hot-water sink, but it is important to recognize that there is no shower. Pay showers are readily available at the Three Rivers Resort just two miles away. Outback can accommodate a maximum of 2 guests. Pet-friendly.
This cabin at our Forks campground is approximately 12′ x 12′, the increased size allowing for a queen bed. Like Outback, this unit has a hot-water sink, space-heater, as well as a mini-refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker. Outback Too occupants will share a small bathroom inside the lodge with the other Outback cabin occupants. This bathroom has a commode and hot-water sink, but no shower. As noted above, pay showers are readily available at the Three Rivers Resort just two miles away. Outback Too can accommodate a maximum of 2 guests. Pet-friendly.
Would you like to go camping at a Forks campground without packing all the gear? We’ve set up 3 private tent campsites for “instant camping”. We provide the tent, sleeping bags/pillows/bag liners/sleeping pads, firepit with grill, covered picnic table, water source, minimal electricity, and a complimentary “S’mores” kit. All you’ll need to bring is your own lantern, cooking utensils, kindling/firewood, food, coffee/tea if you use it, and a way to cook it. Campers in tentsite I (the VW tent) will have use of a small bathroom (commode and sink only – no shower) inside the lodge. Tenters in sites II or III will have access to a portable toilet. Breakfast is not included in the rate, and, we apologize, but use of the lodge is limited to Lodge, Cottage, and Outback cabin guests; Tentsite I, nearest the lodge, is an exact 1965 VW Camper replica tent that can accommodate two people. Pets are not allowed in Tent I. Tentsite II, a good deal further out in the woods, has a single tent allowing accommodations for up to four people. Tentsite III, also out in the woods but near tentsite II, has 2 three-person tents (for a maximum of 6 individuals). Pets may stay in Tent II and III only; pet fees apply. Weather permitting, the tenting season will extend from roughly Memorial Day weekend to Oct 01. Call if you’re unsure.
The Outback/Tent Campsite Season
The Outback cabins are open approximately April 1-Sept 30, while the Tentsites are open from Memorial Day weekend-Sept 30 (check the onlne booking calendar for precise dates). The cabins offer some of the roughing-it features of camping while at the same time permitting access to such niceties as a real bathroom and sink. The Outback cabins can also provide sleeping space for members of larger groups or families. In this configuration, the family members relegated to Outback can shower in a room rented by another family member.
